Differing Audiences – A Battle of the Sexes

I go to a monthly event in NYC where once a year they have an all-female lineup and open mic. Something very interesting happens on that particular night – the crowd changes. Some of the regulars are still there, but for the most part the males are absent as the female artists end up having to bring their own crowd with them. They usually do a good job of packing the place, but the problem is glaring – men, and male artists, stay at home, or go elsewhere, when women are performing.

Mz Jonz Releases 16 Series

 

DETROIT– With anticipation of her new upcoming album, scheduled to release Spring 2011, Mz Jonz releases what she calls “The 16 Series.” At 16:00 hours (4pm EST) today Mz Jonz will be releasing the first video and track of The 16 Series, Week 1 & It’s Official on www.Youtube.com/MzJonz  and www.mzjonz.bandcamp.com .

 

 The 16 series consists of 16 bars over 16 beats, produced by F.I.T.T. of She So Flyy Productions, Dviousmindz, Stresz of Da Skorchaz, and more. Along with the 16 bars over 16 beats, exclusive unreleased video footage of Mz Jonz will be released. “Most people are familiar with me hosting and just being a part of the Hip Hop scene. So the 16 series is to grab people’s attention, make them listen, and re-introduce them to Mz Jonz as an artist,” she explains.

 

Following today, for 16 weeks, every Friday at 16:00 hours (4pm EST) a new video and track will be released on www.Youtube.com/MzJonz  &www.MzJonz.Bandcamp.com  leading up to the first single of her upcoming new album, “Here On My Own”.
